Join Sun Plans to help Habitat build a sun-tempered home!
When I visited the area affected by Hurricane Katrina, I was saddened by the human, environmental, and structural damage. I wanted to help in a way related to my skills and training - to help people build a new home.
The thought of anyone NOT building an energy-efficient, sun-tempered home is disturbing. The less people pay on energy, the more they have available for other daily essentials.
Of course my efforts alone are rather minimal, so I decided to support Habitat for Humanity’s Operation Home Delivery by starting a Sun Plans team. Many friends and clients have asked how they can help. People want to give money, but they also like to see it being used for something specific. Even though Habitat's accounting cannot direct your funds directly to any particular home, I hope it will be enough to see that we can meet the goal of building one house.
Please contact me directly if you would be able to interface with a Habitat office near you to make them aware of our Katrina Cottage house plans. Sun Plans has already completed the design of the Katrina Cottage. We will donate the construction drawings and our goal is to raise enough money to build at least the first one.
